FUSE Newsletter 26 March 2008

Dear Friends,

In our last newsletter we told you that an event was being finalised for Dublin on April 2nd. We are happy to now reveal the details of this event. The press releases have been sent to the regional media already and some of you may already be aware: We have planned a gathering of all supporters of the University for the South East, in Dublin, outside Leinster House at 1400h on April 2nd.

We said in our last newsletter that we need your public support now, more than ever and we encourage you to do everything that you can to ensure that a great presence is seen on April 2nd. If you are working in Dublin please consider talking a late lunch break so that you can be there at 1400h to lend your support. If you know friends or family in Dublin then encourage them to do the same. If you are living outside of Dublin and can get to Dublin then please make this effort, we will not have another chance to make our support known.

In addition to the gathering of support outside Leinster House, a secondary event will take place over the 3 days leading up to April 2nd. A relay run will start in Waterford City and will make its way through Kilkenny and Carlow and finally to Dublin where the baton carrier will hand the baton, containing letters and a petition, to senior government officials as a symbolic gesture of the pride and passion that the South East has for this ambition of university status. The final runner will arrive at the Dáil at 1400h on April 2nd and a huge crowd to welcome them would certainly lift the spirits after a truly epic journey from the South East.

Your support has been terrific so far and we hope that we can count on you now as we enter the final stages of our journey to get our message heard. Please, do everything possible to show your support in Dublin on April 2nd.

See you there!

Friends of the University for the South East
